Jeremy-Nordquist.png

Jeremy Nordquist, MPA

Jeremy Nordquist became the fifth president of the Nebraska Hospital Association in December 2021. Jeremy has served as an elected official, congressional staff, state legislative staff, and a nonprofit leader.

Jeremy previously served as the Government Affairs Director for Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, establishing the Government Affairs Department in April 2020. He led successful efforts to expand coverage of health services through telehealth and establish a state framework for hospitals to declare crisis standard of care in emergency situations.

In Washington, D.C., Jeremy was chief of staff to Reps. Brad Ashford (Nebraska) and Tom O'Halleran (Arizona). His teams achieved federal policy success in rural health care, veterans’ health care, and health services for Native Americans. Overseeing work on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Jeremy was actively engaged in public policy development related to expanding access to Graduate Medical Education and telehealth in rural America.

In partnership with Rep. Ashford, Jeremy managed efforts to write and pass innovative legislation creating a public-private partnership pilot program for Department of Veterans Affairs construction, paving the way for the new VA ambulatory care clinic in Omaha. The Ashford office also successfully advocated to House leadership and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the creation of the grant program that led to UNMC/Nebraska Medicine being awarded $19.8 million to develop a highly infectious disease training, simulation, and quarantine center.

Prior to his service on Capitol Hill, Jeremy represented downtown and south Omaha in the Nebraska Legislature from 2009-2015. Former Sen. Nordquist was the chairman of the Nebraska Retirement Systems Committee and served as a member of the Appropriations, Tax Modernization, State-Tribal Relations, Rules, and Children's Behavioral Health Oversight Committees.

In the Unicameral, he built coalitions to pass legislation improving access to health care for pregnant women, increasing Medicaid provider rates, expanding telehealth services, establishing school-based health centers, implementing the Affordable Care Act, increasing the state’s minimum wage, allowing DREAMers to get driver’s licenses, increasing funds for early childhood education and higher education, and reforming state defined-benefit pension plans. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, Jeremy worked with colleagues and the University of Nebraska Medical Center to secure state appropriations for the Buffett Cancer Center and iEXCEL. He was selected to serve as the chairman of the Health Committee for the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in 2010 and as a member of the NCSL Executive Committee.

Jeremy has also served as the Vice President of Community Engagement for the Holland Children’s Movement and was a Senior Advisor to Building Bright Futures in Omaha.

He has appeared on MSNBC, BBC, and Univision and has been quoted in the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, the Guardian, Huffington Post, Governing Magazine, Politico and many local and regional media outlets.

Jeremy grew up in rural South Dakota. He graduated with honors from Creighton University and holds a Master of Public Administration, with a concentration in health administration, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Jeremy and his wife Shannon have one daughter and one son.

Blair began her career as a radiographer at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha. She then became ARRT board certified in Cardiac Intervention and began a journey in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Children’s Hospital. During her 5 years in the cardiac catheterization lab, she found her love for 3D printing and 3D segmentation reconstructions. She supported the hospital in all advanced imaging needs. She would post-process CT and MRI exams that warrant 3D images as well as post-process cardiac MRI for the cardiologists. 3D printing was housed in the lab and was utilized for patient specific cases as well as research.

In her current role, she helped implement the 3D Certificate curriculum and teaches the 3D certification course. After being hired in late April 2022, she and her team had the 3D Printing and Training Center up and running for business by July 2022. She oversees the lab, which consists of a team that helps segment and design 3D prints and participates in research with collaborators. The lab currently offers 3D visualization and workshops to anyone within the medical field.
